What am I adding to my cart?
Chic sleepwear, Not The Row sandals, Throw on summer pieces, Mary Janes!
So it’s finally hotting up! Honestly, at one point in May, I thought we would never get here. I was merely dreaming of warm summer evenings; see the snap above from the weekend! I’ve been doing some high-summer shopping for myself and wanted to share a few finds, along with some old staples I wear year after year.
Summer pajamas have been on my list. I decided my old faithfuls really needed an update. I had a browse and really liked what Mango had to offer, surprisingly, not realizing they had ventured into this area—see below my favorites.
I’ve seen everyone and their mother wearing The Row (above) cage sandals on social media. How come I haven’t jumped on this earlier? They are now sold out, so forget spending $890 on a PVC shoe :). I’m still trying to move past my nostalgia for childhood summer holidays wearing jelly shoes. Here are more penny-pinching options for you—I was particularly impressed with the Jeffrey Campbell offering….
Left to right: Melissa, Ancient Greek Sandals , Jeffrey Campbell.
During the summer, for ‘everyday’ dressing, I mainly look for easy throw-on clothes - cute tops with denim shorts, sets, and dresses. I tend to wear things to death in this season, so I buy inexpensive items that will withstand the sweaty New York wear and tear. Here are some pieces that caught my eye…
From left to right: Zara, Ciao Lucia, Sprwmn, Realisation Parr, J Crew, Ciao Lucia X Rixo. - above snap, wearing J Crew, couldn’t not get it, 40% off right now…
I get many compliments on my red Peche Carel Mary Janes. The Peche has a 0.8-inch heel—perfect for running around the city all day in the summer, but still has a small something. Carel has brought in some new colors for the season, which are super cute (a pastel lime green and a lilac), but I would personally go for a classic option, with these shoes being an investment for $545. Black, Red, or Silver are my favorite seasonless options.
Similar options with a lower price point would be Sezane’s Paula Babies. These are half the price and offer fifteen different color options at $215.
I hope some of this helps and keeps you cute and cool during the summer.
Lots of love,
Rebecca x
